Milwaukie Riverfront Park Grand Opening a wonderful success - these photos say it all!
More than 400 community members gathered at the banks of the Willamette River to join the ribbon cutting celebration for Milwaukie Riverfront Park on May 1, 2015.
Phase II construction included a new boat ramp facility and floating dock, a restroom facility, a riverside trail along the bank of the Willamette River, tying the new boat ramp work with the Phase I work of Klein Point Overlook, plantings in the riparian area along the Willamette, and the relocation of the power poles located in the park eastward toward McLoughlin Boulevard in order to provide more park green space.
“Milwaukie Riverfront Park is a region-wide attraction,” City Manager Bill Monahan said. “Milwaukie has some of the most beautiful views of the Willamette River the region has to offer, and now we have a park to showcase them.”
