Milwaukie Urban Renewal Open House

Date

04/20/2016 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm

You are invited to an open house to hear about the potential urban renewal area for downtown and central Milwaukie. The Open House is scheduled for April 20, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Public Safety Building at 3200 SE Harrison Street.

You are invited to an open house to hear about the potential urban renewal area for downtown and central Milwaukie. Urban renewal is an economic development tool that would allow the City to borrow against future tax revenues from new construction and increases in assessed value within the designated urban renewal area. If approved, the City could then create funds for street or façade improvements, pedestrian amenities, and loans or grants to make development more feasible in difficult locations. Urban renewal is not a new tax, but rather a reallocation of existing taxes.
