Moving Forward Milwaukie Phase 3: Neighborhood Main Streets
The Moving Forward Milwaukie project began in June 2012 and was completed in December 2015. City Council adopted the amendment package for the neighborhood main streets on December 15, 2015.
Building on community enthusiasm for pedestrian-oriented, neighborhood-serving business districts uncovered through the Neighborhood Main Streets Project, this effort will enhance public strategies and policies to encourage commercial development that aligns with community goals.
Key Issues:
- Use standards - what should be allowed in these areas?
- Design standards - what should new development look like?
- Development standards - how large or tall should new buildings be? Where should parking be located on the site?
- How can access by car, bike, and foot be as comfortable and safe as possible?
The Neighborhood Main Streets phase of the Moving Forward Milwaukie project kicked off in April 2015. Materials will be posted here as they become available.
