Supplemental Code Documents (commentary, flowcharts)
For several decades, Milwaukie has had standards in place for protecting natural resource areas (click here for a summary of the code history).
The following documents are intended to explain the proposed changes to the City's existing Water Quality Resource regulations (MMC 19.402) that incorporate new rules for Habitat Conservation Areas.
The proposed new Natural Resource regulations include references to the "Milwaukie Native Plant List." The City is currently using the recently updated Portland Plant List as the list for Milwaukie. Portland's extensive list identifies plants that are native to this region as well as "nuisance" plants that should not be planted in natural resource areas.
