Milwaukie’s own favorite storyteller is back! Will Hornyak presents On the Rocky Road: Stories of Exiles and Itinerants in Irish Legend and Lore. From wandering peddlers and itinerate scholars to religious outcasts and famine exiles, storyteller Hornyak twines poems, songs, history and myth together in honor of the resilient and well-traveled Irish spirit and soul. For mature audiences 14 and older.
The Commission held this meeting in-person and by video conference. The public was invited to come to City Hall, join the Zoom webinar, or watch on the city’s YouTube channel or Comcast Cable channel 30 in city limits.
To celebrate the launch of Spice Club, we are hosting a talk by James Beard-nominated chef and cookbook author Bonnie Morales. Bonnie is the first-generation American daughter of Belarusian immigrants and grew up in a large family that brought with them the distinctive culture of food and drink of the former Soviet Union.
She is the author of Kachka: A Return to Russian Cooking and Executive Chef & Co-owner of Kachka, a restaurant in Portland, Oregon that serves food from Russia and former Soviet republics such as Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, and Uzbekistan.

Weekly outreach is offered at the library by staff and volunteers from the City of Milwaukie, LoveOne and 4D Recovery.
Anyone is welcome to drop in for assistance with basic needs (housing, utilities, employment, food access), referrals, and resources.
A petting zoo, but with synthesizers! Drop in between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. to befriend, pet, and play an array of electronic instruments courtesy of Synth Library Portland.
This is an opportunity for library patrons of all skill levels to experiment and play with a wide variety of electronic musical instruments and learn how synthesizers make and shape sound. Don’t miss this unusual opportunity to experience these incredible musical instruments first-hand! All-ages welcome.
