Add to your calendar:
The Milwaukie Poetry Series and the Ledding Library are delighted to sponsor a William Stafford Birthday Celebration on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 4-6 PM in the Community Room at the Ledding Library of Milwaukie, OR 97222.
These celebrations are held during January in Oregon and the nation in honor of poet William Stafford who taught for many years at Lewis and Clark College and was Oregon Poet Laureate from 1975 through 1989.
The event will hosted by Tom Hogan and Greg Chaimov. Our Featured Readers will be John Morrison, Bill Siverly and Diane Stepp. They will be reading poems by William Stafford and their own work for approximately 40 minutes.
The reading will be in-person. It will also be available on Zoom. You can register with me at tomhogan2@comcast.net.
We will have an Open Mic. Anyone who would like to participate in this is welcome. Just respond to me at this email tomhogan2@comcast.net to register. You will get a link prior to the event. Plan to read 1 or 2 William Stafford poems depending on the number of participants. We will do another round if time permits. People who want to read a poem must be in person. We plan to record and post the event.
Thank you for participating, please be safe and well.
