Neighborhood Hubs Workshop - Milwaukie Floral

Date

Wednesday, October 25, 2023 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Milwaukie Floral and Garden

Join city staff and the consultant team at an upcoming Neighborhood Hubs Workshop. The team has been gathering ideas from the community about next steps all summer long. Come learn and provide feedback about the ideas, potential zoning changes, and economic development tools available.

The purpose of the Public Workshop series is to provide residents, businesses, and property owners an opportunity to weigh in and shape potential code updates to support and incentivize the implementation of Neighborhood Hubs concepts. Six workshops will be held at relevant neighborhood hubs at known or convenient locations. All members of the public are invited to participate.

Attending a workshop in person provides the opportunity to interact with staff, ask questions, and provide feedback on the ideas and proposals the team will be sharing.

Please RSVP - To help staff better prepare for these workshops and make sure we have enough space, please RSVP by competing this short form on Engage Milwaukie.

Refreshments and food for this workshop - Light refreshments will be provided at the workshop. If you are interested in pre-ordering and purchasing your own food so that it is ready for the meeting, you can do so at www.amesmeatresearch.com/. Ames Meat Research is the food cart on site.

If you aren't able to attend an in-person workshop, you can provide feedback by visiting the Neighborhood Hubs project page on Engage Milwaukie at https://engage.milwaukieoregon.gov/hubs-phase2. The online workshop will remain open until November 15, 2023

What are Neighborhood Hubs?

Neighborhood Hubs are gathering places where residents have easy access to goods and services close to their homes. They are places where neighbors create meaningful relationships with each other.  The Neighborhood Hubs project combines planning, placemaking, and economic development programs to increase access to goods and services in residential areas. The Neighborhood Hubs project will result in program and policy changes that will make it easier for Neighborhood Hubs to become a reality in the near and long-term future. The project is exploring a variety of tools that will help develop Hubs at various stages of growth while allowing a path for new Hubs to emerge.
