Monroe Street repaving and reconstruction underway - access limited
The repaving and reconstruction of Monroe Street between McLoughlin Boulevard and a block east of Highway 224, as called for by the Street Surface Maintenance Program, is underway and will continue through mid-September, temporarily affecting access in the construction area.
In 2006 City Council enacted the Street Surface Maintenance Program (SSMP) to collect funding to help keep the City’s major arterials in decent condition. This being one of the City’s arterials, the Monroe Street Project was selected as an SSMP project.
Schedule:
- Between Wednesday, Aug. 13 and Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 the contractor will be focused on paving Monroe between McLoughlin and Main Street, while preparing for paving between Main Street and the American Legion.
- Over the weekend of Aug. 16, and 17, 2104, east of 21st Avenue to the American Legion Driveway will be closed and detours will be set up.
- The week of Aug. 18, this same area will be prepared for paving and paved before Friday, Aug. 22, 2014.
- The contractor will jump to the other side of the Light Rail Improvements and make their way east towards Oak Street.
- Staff expects this project to completed mid-September.
Updates to this schedule as well as public notices will be posted here on the Project Information Site.
