Clackamas Review Obituary Index
Founded in 1916, the Clackamas Review is the City of Milwaukie's weekly community newspaper. Containing local news, the Clackamas Review usually has four to five obituaries in each weekly issue.
The staff of the Ledding Library has compiled an index to the obituaries starting in 1926 and continuing through April of 1999. After April of 1999, the Clackamas Review stopped publishing obituaries for several years, beginning again in 2002. Library staff are still in the process of adding obituaries from 2002 to the present. We have placed the obituary index on our website as a courtesy to family members and genealogists.
In the "Obituary A-Z" PDF file below, the obituaries are arranged in alphabetical order by the person's last name. Birth and death dates are listed, when mentioned in the obituary, as is the issue date and the page number of the obituary's citation. In later years, the age at death is given instead of the birth date. To search the PDF open the file then press Ctrl + F to use your computer's document search function or simply scroll through the document until you locate the last name of the person you are searching for.
Once an obituary is located in the index, you can contact the Library's Reference Department for a copy of up to 3 obituaries. Copies are 10¢ per page. The obituaries, which are on microfilm, may be read and copied at the Ledding Library as well. You may order copies of obituaries in one of the three ways listed below:
