Guided by the Comprehensive Plan, the Planning Department's primary function is to plan for the future of Milwaukie.

To plan for the future, the Planning Department maintains and implements the Comprehensive Plan and other planning documents, and implements the community's development standards through the Zoning, Land Division, and Sign Ordinances.
