Vertical Housing Development Zone

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The VHDZ provides qualified development projects a 10-year property tax exemption on the value of new construction or rehabilitation for 20 percent per eligible residential floor(s) above a commercial ground floor with total exemption limited to no more than 80 percent. Additional exemption may be available for projects with affordable housing (land exemption of 20 percent per eligible floor up to 80 percent).

The City of Milwaukie’s goals for the vertical housing program include:

Map Services

Milwaukie’s Map Services manages the city’s Geographic Information System, while providing mapping and data analysis. This service also manages regional data coordination for city departments and special projects, as well as other area government entities. At its core, Milwaukie Mapping Services provides tools to help answer geographical questions and solve problems using visual mapping techniques.

Plowing, Sanding and De-Icing Plans

Snow and ice control operations are intended to help provide drivers with a reasonably safe traveling surface. During heavy snowfall or severe icing conditions, drivers may need to install chains or other traction devices. Public works crews only plow snow when it reaches two inches of accumulation. In the event of freezing rain, crews usually apply sand only at hazardous locations, such as steep hills, intersections and railroad crossings.

2024 Curbside Bulky Waste Disposal Event

REMINDER: For missed pickups, call your hauler. City staff cannot schedule or address missed pick-ups and will ask you to contact your specific hauler.
