City Hall Blue Ribbon Committee
Writing city hall’s next chapter.
The current Milwaukie City Hall has served our community since 1938. As the city plans to move to a newer building, the City Council appointed a City Hall Blue Ribbon Committee (CHBRC) to help decide how the current city hall site should be used in the future.
Between summer 2020 and winter 2021 the committee learned about the historic significance of the site, historical preservation laws, operational costs and limitations, and development market conditions. The committee then helped create development goals for the site. The committee met for the final time on February 24, 2021, and presented its final report to the City Council on March 16 (see meeting links below).
To read more about the CHBRC's role, see the committee charter (link below). For more information on historic Milwaukie City Hall, see the history link below. To receive email updates on the CHBRC, visit the city's email subscription webpage at https://www.milwaukieoregon.gov/subscribe and check the CHBRC box.
