Expired Permits
Every month, the building department sends out expiration letters. If you receive a letter, it means that the city’s system doesn’t show that your permit is final. Here are some example scenarios and typical solutions:
If you’re still working and need a little more time, no worries! Just send an email requesting an extension before the expiration date and staff can extend the deadline by 180 days (6 months). Send the email request to building@milwaukieoregon.gov.
If the permit is final, email a copy of the final inspection to building@milwaukieoregon.gov and staff will correct the city’s records.
If your permit is expired and you’d like to reinstate it, there is a reinstatement fee, however, if there has been a code change or the permit has been expired for more than six months, it cannot be reinstated and a new permit is required. To request a reinstatement, email building@milwaukieoregon.gov.
