CASH Oregon
Imagine helping return thousands of dollars to those in need in your community. You can help! All it takes is volunteer time to work with taxpayers through the highly regarded AARP Tax-Aide program supported by CASH Oregon.
Why say yes to this volunteer opportunity?
-
Each year hardworking Oregonians who cannot afford it spend hundreds of dollars on tax preparation. Many fall prey to predatory lenders selling high-cost loans advertised as “fast refunds.” You can offer a free alternative in your community.
-
During tax season, each volunteer places an average of $48,000 into the hands of seniors and Oregonians living on poverty’s edge by assisting them with their taxes. Talk about a significant impact!
-
Volunteers learn many aspects of tax return preparation. This includes tax deductions and credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Credit for the Elderly that can put thousands of dollars into the pockets of our community’s most vulnerable.
-
As a volunteer, you become part of a program that has helped people file tax returns at no charge for more than four decades.
Join this friendly group of volunteers who care about their community!
Suzanne who has been volunteering for 6 years says it best. “Volunteering with the AARP Tax Aide program is a real, tangible way of knowing that I'm making a difference in my community.”
