Introduction
The City's pilot Facade Improvement Program (FIP) was established in May 2011, and was jointly funded by the City and Metro. There is $50,000 grants available for improvements to downtown building facades.
Purpose
The purpose of the program was to encourage and fund high-quality facade improvement projects that enhance the pedestrian experience and make downtown Milwaukie a more attractive, pleasant, and vibrant place.
How to Apply
Buildings in the City's downtown zones are eligible for the grant (see the bottom of the page for a link to a map of the downtown zones). Applications for the Downtown Facade Improvement Program are accepted on an ongoing basis; projects must be completed by June 30, 2012. Applications are reviewed and approved by the City's Design and Landmarks Committee at its monthly meeting. See the project page link below for additional information.
