B Corps
What are B Corporations?
B Corps are for-profit companies certified to have met rigorous social and environmental standards of performance, accountability, and transparency. The B Corp movement is built upon the belief that businesses impact and serve more than just shareholders and hold an equal responsibility to the community and the environment.
More than 1,400 businesses have been certified by the nonprofit B Lab as B Corporations. The State of Oregon has 57 B Corps. Some local examples are New Seasons Markets, Gerding Edlen Development Inc., United Fund Advisors, and Celilo Group Media which publishes the popular Chinook Book.
