Project Details
This project will repave the road and create improved connections for pedestrians and bicyclists. It will also build multi-use paths along King Road that connects to the recently constructed multi-use path on Linwood Avenue. This project includes funding from the Safe Access for Everyone (SAFE) program and the Street Surface Maintenance Program.
Proposed improvements:
- Build a multi-use path on both sides of King Road.
- Repave King Road between 43rd and Linwood Avenues.
- Update curb ramps at each intersection to current ADA standards.
- Remove a duplicate water mainline pipe on King Road between 52nd Avenue and Stanley Avenue that is no longer in use.
Project Schedule: Planned for fiscal years (FY) 2023 to 2025
- Engineering Phase: FY 2023-2024
- Construction Obligation Year: FY 2025 – FY 2026
- Construction Target Date: Spring 2025
- Completion Target Date: October 2026
King Road is an arterial street with a speed limit of 35 MPH. We will not lower the speed limit with this project, but we will enact other traffic calming measures to encourage vehicles to slow down.
