Join the North Clackamas Watersheds Council (NCWC) and North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) for a volunteer event at Kronberg Park! Kronberg Park was a staging area for sediment sampling that took place for the Kellogg Impoundment this fall, and now that sampling has wrapped up, NCWC is looking to give this natural area a little love! Volunteers will be helping to plant native plants on the upland banks of the park for future habitat enhancement. Come and learn about the Kellogg Dam project, native and pollinator-friendly plants, and proper planting techniques! Snacks, water, and tools will be provided. The planting event takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Interested volunteers can join early (9 a.m.) for a walking tour of the Kellogg Creek Restoration and Community Enhancement Project! Volunteers will meet at Milwaukie Bay Park, where the Kellogg Dam is visible, talk about its history and the many benefits for wildlife and people. The tour will continue along the Trolley Trail, where participants can get a good view of the current Kellogg Impoundment, and discuss how that area will change once it has been restored before ending at Kronberg Park just before 10 a.m. for the volunteer event!
Please register for the walking tour here and sign up for the native planting event at Kronberg Park here. Se ofrece interpretación en español, regístrese aquí.
