Milwaukie Leadership Academy
Registration is now closed for the 2024-25 Milwaukie Leadership Academy. Please check back in September 2025 for the next registration period.
The city invites the community to participate in the 2024-25 Milwaukie Leadership Academy!
The purpose of the MLA is to provide an opportunity for community members to learn about how the city works directly from city staff, current volunteers, and elected officials.
The academy also provides a great foundation for anyone considering leadership positions with the city. This includes the city’s boards, committees, commission, and Neighborhood District Associations (NDA). It is also a good starting place for anyone who is considering running for City Council in the future.
Class sessions will be held during the evening (5:45-8 PM) once per month from October 2024 through June 2025, with the exception of December, for a total of eight sessions. A tentative syllabus is listed below:

There is no charge for the academy, but class size is limited to 25 students for 2024.
