The Milwaukie Poetry Series is kicking off it's 17th Season with a reading by Richard Lehnert.
Richard Lehnert’s first book of poems, A Short History of the Usual, was published in 2003; his second book, The Only Empty Place, was published in 2023. His poems have appeared in Poetry, The Sun, Prairie Schooner, Mid-American Review, Barrow Street, The Southern Review, Chautauqua, Spoon River Poetry Review, and many other journals.
From 1987 to 1996 he was the music editor of Stereophile magazine, and since then has worked as a freelance music critic and an editor and copyeditor of books and magazines. After 30 years in northern New Mexico, he and his wife, Susannah, have now lived for 12 years on the other side of the tracks in Ashland, Oregon.
