Room
Ledding Library - Community Room
A free community event that brings volunteers with fixing skills and people with broken items together.
What can I bring to be repaired*?
- Clean clothes and textiles
- Small electronics
- Small home appliances
- Jewelry
*Some repairs may not be available at every event. To confirm an item you want to bring can be repaired, email sustainability@clackamas.us with a description of your item.
How many broken items can I bring?
To reduce the wait time for each attendee, one broken item per person is examined at a time. After each item is examined/repaired, the attendee must return to the registration table to be matched with another fixer volunteer. If a repair takes longer than 30 minutes, attendees may be asked to postpone the repair.
What's NOT accepted?
- Items too large/heavy for one person to carry
- microwaves
- large appliances
- appliances with coolant, gasoline, or other hazardous waste
- unwashed clothing
What to expect?
When arriving with broken items, attendees are asked to sign in at the front desk and fill out a liability waiver.
Items may be put on the hold table where fixers review them for the likelihood of a successful repair, then matched with fixers unique skillsets. This may mean items are seen slightly out of order. Wait times will vary depending on attendance. Items left unattended will be skipped.
There is no guarantee attendees will walk away with a workable item, but fixers will absolutely give it their best shot!
