BALLET PAPALOTL MEXICAN FOLK DANCE PERFORMANCE

Sponsored by the Friends of Ledding Library

Everyone welcome – all ages. FREE.

Ballet Papalotl is an Oregonian youth, bicultural dance troupe, that has performed traditional Mexican folkloric dance since 2003. "Papalotl" means "butterfly" in the Aztec, or Nahuatl language.

Ballet Papalotl's mission is to share authentic Mexican dance and culture with the people of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest and to contribute to a more harmonious society. Papalotl maintains authentic Mexican Folkloric ballet standards of excellence, enriching our vibrant city through intercultural exchange. The word folklore comes from the German word volk, which means people. Folklore is quite literally the legends and culture of the people - the history of the Mexican people, but also the values and traditions of our ancestors, as human beings.

So sit back and enjoy a bit of Mexican living history with Ballet Papalotl!
