Project Details

The project objective is to grind and repave streets that are in poor condition and have been identified by the Public Works Staff, community members, and internal recommendations. The streets selected for this project were evaluated based on their Pavement Condition Index (PCI) along with inspections by city staff. This maintenance project includes the removal of 2 inches of asphalt and the re-installation of 2 inches of new asphalt to provide better quality streets for the community to utilize. Also included in this project is longitudinal striping. This work consists of repainting yellow centerlines and white fog/bike lanes all over Milwaukie.

Project Schedule:

Engineering Phase: January- February 2024
Construction Obligation: June - September 2024
Completion Target Date: September 30th, 2024

Alerts & Updates

Update 08.20.2024:
The longitudinal striping is complete, and the contractor will begin reinstalling the asphalt berms on Aug. 23.

Update 07.11.2024: 
As of July 11, the majority of the paving work is complete with the exception of berm installation on curbless streets and re-installing stop bars and continental crosswalk markings. Due to unforeseen circumstances, SE Where Else Lane will not be paved this summer, but will be prioritized next summer. Residents on Where Else Lane should expect a mailer with additional information.

Crews will begin completing longitudinal striping in the next two months. This work will consist of re-painting yellow center lines and white fog/bike lanes in various locations all over Milwaukie.
