Long-time Milwaukie resident Mart Hughes, who served many years on Milwaukie's Parks and Recreation Board, is featured prominently in an online video explaining the benefits, and challenges, beaver bring to an urban environment. Mart is a Restoration Ecologist and explains that while beaver can be nuisances in urban areas, they play a critical role in enhancing water quality and creating habitat for endangered fishes.
