Short Term Rentals (Air BnB) Public Meeting

The City Planning Department is holding a public meeting on September 23rd to discuss how short term rentals (Airbnb-type rentals) should be regulated in Milwaukie. With the participation of the NDA Chairs, NDA Land Use Committee members, and the people we know of who would like to use their residential properties for short term rentals, it is our hope that we can find some mutually agreeable process that can add some flexibility to the City’s currently restrictive procedures. The City Council discussed the issue of Short Term Rentals as part of a broader discussion of the Sharing Economy at their July 23rd Study Session; the staff report for that meeting includes a memorandum that describes current regulations and an interim policy approach that allows a room to be rented once per month.
