Proposal: Per Milwaukie Municipal Code Subsection 19.301.4, lots in the R-MD zone with a land area 7,000sq ft or greater are required to maintain a 5ft and 10ft side yard setback. The applicant is building an accessory dwelling unit that will reduce their existing 10ft side yard setback on the south side of the property to 5ft. This means that the north side yard becomes the 10ft side yard. The applicant is requesting a Type II variance to retain an existing attached storage shed at 4054 SE Angela Way that encroaches approximately 2.2ft into the required 10ft side yard setback.
