Pedestrian struck by suspected impaired driver
Milwaukie, OR – on 1/28/24 at approximately 9:30 AM, Milwaukie Police Officers were called to the intersection of SE Monroe St. and SE Wood Ave. on the report a person was struck by a vehicle on the roadway. Officers arrived along with medical personnel and located a 67 year old female conscious and suffering from cuts and unknown internal injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Officers learned the female was walking her dog in an unknown direction on SE Monroe St. when she was struck by the right front part of a passenger pickup. The female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in critical but stable condition. The dog ran off and was later found at the female’s home nearby.
The driver of the pickup is identified as Kristin D. Russell, 57 of Milwaukie. She was booked at the Clackamas County Jail on charges of DUII, Assault II, Vehicular Assault- Pedestrian.
