Earth Day 2025

In celebration of Earth Day, the city, in partnership with the Historic Milwaukie Neighborhood District Association (NDA), Rotary Club of Milwaukie, the Milwaukie Parks Foundation, and other community partners, is hosting a volunteer event in downtown Milwaukie. Prior to the start of the volunteer work, Milwaukie will receive an official designation as a Bee City USA for its work to protect pollinators and promote healthy habitats. An historical moment that you won't want to miss! The event will also include a station to decorate pollinator wings, numerous organizations with information tables, music, and spring weather so come join in the fun!

Other event partners include Portland Waldorf School, pFriem Family Brewers, Twinflower Natives, Milwaukie Environmental Stewards Group, Milwaukie Garden Club, Metro, Clackamas Water Environment Services, North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District, North Clackamas Watersheds Council, the Xerces Society, Ledding Library, and the city's Parks and Recreation Board.

For anyone that just can't wait for the event, there is an opportunity to decorate pollinator wings in advance that you can show off at the Earth Day event. Drop in at the Ledding Library Community Room (10660 SE 21st Ave.) on Monday, April 14 (2-4 p.m.) for Earth Day Craft. Participants will decorate bee, butterfly, or hummingbird wings on a no-school day. All ages are welcome!
