We Built a Library!

In May 2016, Milwaukie passed a bond to fund improvements and expand the Ledding Library.  In October 2018, the project broke ground and moved its services to a temporary location. A year later, construction was completed and the new library opened to the public on January 7, 2020.

Improvements Updates:

• Jan. 11, 2020 - New library grand opening. Ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 am. Activities all day.
• Dec. 9, 2019 - The temporary library closes to move into the new library.
• Dec. 31, 2018 - Friends of Ledding Library announce they approved increasing their pledge toward building the new library in March 2018 of $100,000 to $150,000. 
• Dec. 11, 2018 - City Council approves Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the construction of the Ledding Library. GMP: $8,116,290, Contingency: $547,711, Total Project Authorization: $8,664,001
