USGS Studies the Impact of Insecticides on Northwestern Clackamas County Streams

The City of Milwaukie contributed to an environmental study that was undertaken by Clackamas County stormwater permit co-permittees who partnered with the USGS. The study investigated pesticides present in urban stormwater, streams and creeks in our respective communities.

Community Vision

In 2040, Milwaukie is a flourishing city that is entirely equitable, delightfully livable, and completely sustainable. It is a safe and welcoming community whose residents enjoy secure and meaningful work, a comprehensive educational system, and affordable housing. A complete network of sidewalks, bike lanes, and paths along with well-maintained streets and a robust transit system connect our neighborhood centers. Art and creativity are woven into the fabric of the city.

Adult Book Clubs

The Ledding Library currently has three book clubs.

The Daylight Book Group is led by Librarian Christine Mackie and meets the first Thursday of each month at 11:00 am in the Library Meeting/Conference Room.

The Interurban Trolley

Commuter rail has played a prominent role in the development of Milwaukie since the 19th century.
