About the Arts Committee

Based on the community’s suggestion, the Milwaukie Arts Committee was created and appointed by City Council in the spring 2008. The committee typically meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m., however, date and location are subject to change. Please check the city calendar for the most up-to-date meeting information.

Solarize Milwaukie

In 2017, Milwaukie held a city-wide pilot program to help homes in the community go solar. Solarize Milwaukie's goal was to lower the cost of solar panels through bulk purchasing and take advantage of available tax credits.

The Milwaukie Poetry Series

Join us for the 18th Season of The Milwaukie Poetry Series every second Wednesday of the month, September 2024 - July 2025, at 6 p.m. in the Ledding Library Community Room. The reading will also be livestreamed on the Ledding Library YouTube channel.

Tree Board

The community-led Tree Board is an advocate for trees and a resource for all Milwaukians. Charged with creating and maintaining a plan for the care of trees and shrubs in the city's public places, the board acts as an advisory body to City Council. - Milwaukie Municipal Code 16.32.015(D) -

Redevelopment Commission

The Milwaukie Redevelopment Commission (MRC) is the Urban Renewal Agency for the City of Milwaukie. The MRC was established in 1987 by the City Council through the adoption of Ordinance 1623.  Per Chapter 2.40 of the Milwaukie Municipal Code (MMC) the Council acts as the 5 MRC commissioners.

Alarm Permits

Alarm permits are required for businesses and residences that use an alarm system within city limits. Alarm permits must be obtained and submitted prior to the use of the alarm system.

Application Fee:
Business: $50
Residential: $30
Residential 65+: $10

Permit Term: The alarm permit is valid for one calendar year.
