Code Compliance: The Code Compliance Division is responsible for neighborhood preservation, code compliance and nuisance abatement.

Criminal Investigation Unit: The Criminal Investigation Unit is comprised of four Detectives, and a Detective Sergeant. Detectives are sworn police officers specially assigned to incidents requiring extended amounts of time to investigate. The ESD K9 team is managed by the criminal investigations unit. 

Police Evidence Unit: The Evidence Unit is responsible for the handling, storage, disposition of the evidence and property seized by police officers.

Police Patrol Operations: Police officers within the Patrol Division are committed to preventing and combating crime while striving to provide quality customer service for citizens, neighborhoods, and businesses within our community of Milwaukie.

Police Records Division: Records personnel carry the integrity and professional confidentiality of the police department via the transfer of information, archives, and data entry, while answering thousands of telephone calls, and much more.

School Resource Officer: School Resource Officers provide consistent and readily available police support for various K-thru-12 schools within the City of Milwaukie.

Traffic Safety Division: The MPD Traffic Safety Unit’s primary focus is to create a safer community through citizen education, by helping neighborhoods and citizens solve traffic problems, and enforcement of traffic safety laws.

Small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems: Patrol Officers who are trained and licensed by the FAA to fly sUAS can deploy MiPD drones on patrol, for certain circumstances, to enhance safety and help apprehend suspects.
