Welcome Message From the Chief
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the website for the Milwaukie Police Department. The men and women of our agency are committed to consistently providing the finest police services possible. We believe strongly in the importance of community - engagement and partnerships between the police and the community we are sworn to serve. We strive to balance those partnerships with the traditional proactive and reactive aspects of public safety. Our core values include integrity, professionalism, customer service, compassion, transparency and work ethic. Public Safety is an incredibly complex business and we’re honored to serve the City of Milwaukie in this capacity.
Our website will provide you with the opportunity to learn a little about the agency and many of the services we provide. The Milwaukie Police Department is an accredited agency comprised of 43 total members with 36 in sworn police positions. Our sworn positions include officer, detective, sergeant, captain and chief. Our non-sworn positions include administrative assistant, property and evidence technician, records, parking enforcement, code enforcement and emergency manager. Other specialty assignments include K9, bike patrol, public information officer, Uncrewed Aircraft Operator (Drone), SWAT and crisis negotiations.
We serve over 20,000 residents nestled within approximately five square miles, along the banks of the Willamette River. It is our goal to make this community as safe and welcoming as possible for all those who live, work or travel here. For the kinds of calls our Officers regularly respond to, visit; Monthly Calls for Service Data. Questions or comments? Do not hesitate to contact us- police@milwaukieoregon.gov.
